
Ross Maciejewski is a Professor at Arizona State University and Director of the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (2023 - present). He previously served as the Director of the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency - a Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence (2017 - 2025). His primary research interests are in the areas of visualization and explainable AI. He has served on the organizing committees for the IEEE Conference on Visual Analytics Science and Technology, the IEEE/VGTC EuroVis Conference, as the co-chair of the Visualization Executive Committee (VEC) (2021 - 2024), and as an Associate Editor in Chief for IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (2023 - 2025). Professor Maciejewski is a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award (2014), an inductee of the IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy (2024), and his work has been recognized through a variety of awards at the IEEE Visual Analytics Contest (2010, 2013, 2015), a best paper award in EuroVis 2017, CHI Honorable Mention Awards (2018, 2022), and the IEEE VGTC Visualization Service Award (2025).
